On the morning of April 17, skies over several northern provinces including Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Quang Ninh suddenly turned dark, creating an unusual scene as if night had fallen in broad daylight. Many drivers were forced to switch on their headlights to move safely.

At around 8am in Bac Giang ward, Bac Ninh province, the sky darkened abruptly, casting an eerie shadow over the area. Streets were plunged into dim light despite it being peak morning hours, with thick clouds blocking out almost all sunlight.

The phenomenon caused daylight to nearly disappear, leaving residents surprised by the sudden change in conditions.

In Vo Cuong ward, Bac Ninh, people also had to turn on vehicle lights due to the darkness. By 9am, buildings and streets remained covered in dense cloud, creating a rare scene for that time of day.

The heavy cloud cover spread across the city, with many residents capturing the unusual moment as daytime appeared indistinguishable from night. Layers of thick, dark clouds prevented sunlight from penetrating through.

A similar situation was recorded at around 8am in Phan Dinh Phung ward, Thai Nguyen, where the sky also turned dark. Streets in Pho Yen were likewise covered in deep shadow.

In Quang Ninh, at around 11am the same day, a fast-moving storm system arrived, quickly darkening the sky. Many vehicles turned on headlights while traveling, and households switched on lights indoors to continue daily activities.
