The board requested the city’s media agencies publish information seeking public feedback on the proposal for state-level commendation.
Earlier, the Hanoi People’s Committee Office submitted a recommendation dossier proposing the second-class Labor Order for Vu Dai Thang.
Authorities said public feedback can be sent to the Hanoi Emulation and Commendation Board at 37 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi.
Vu Dai Thang, 50, is from Hanoi. He holds a master’s degree in international relations, along with bachelor’s degrees in foreign economics and law.
Before becoming chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, he served as director general of the Department for Economic Zones Management under the Ministry of Planning and Investment and as vice chairman of the Ha Nam provincial People’s Committee from 2010 to 2015.
In March 2018, he was appointed deputy minister of Planning and Investment.
From August 2020 to October 2024, Vu Dai Thang served as secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee and was re-elected for a new term.
In October 2024, the Politburo assigned him to serve as secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
In November 2025, the Politburo appointed him deputy secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.
He was later elected by the Hanoi People’s Council as chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
