Hanoi will provide free bottled water, instant cakes, and dry rations to the public and visitors attending the military parade and celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued an official directive outlining logistical support for citizens and tourists attending events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, including the official ceremony, military parade, and procession on September 2 at 6:30 a.m.

Rehearsals and run-throughs are scheduled for August 21, 24, and 30. To ensure smooth coordination, Hanoi Chairman Tran Sy Thanh has appointed Vice Chairman Duong Duc Tuan to oversee traffic flow plans and crowd management on streets involved in the parade. Security and public order will also be prioritized during the event.

Security personnel and youth volunteers will be deployed to key public areas, assembly points, viewing stands, and streets with LED screens showing the event. Priority seating will be arranged for veterans, the elderly, women, and children.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Quyen has been tasked with organizing the distribution of essential supplies, including bottled water, instant snacks, and dry rations, along with setting up shelters to protect spectators from rain and sun. Free bus routes will be arranged for residents and visitors, particularly the elderly traveling from other provinces to Hanoi, to attend rehearsals and the main event.

Mr. Quyen has also been directed to instruct ward- and commune-level authorities to promote the values of Hanoi’s traditional cultural identity: civility, friendliness, and hospitality. Local residents are encouraged to assist visitors and participants during the parade period.
