Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a decision mobilizing Hoang Minh Son, a member of the Party Central Committee and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, to take up work at the Ministry of Education and Training, assigning him to serve as Acting Minister.

Earlier, on the afternoon of February 27, Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training, received a decision appointing him as Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Policy and Strategy Commission.
Hoang Minh Son was born in 1969 in Hung Yen province. He holds the academic title of Associate Professor and earned a PhD in Automation Engineering, a doctorate in German language studies, and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Throughout his career in the education sector, he has served as Vice Rector, Rector and later Chairman of the University Council of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He also held the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training.
On September 3, 2025, he was appointed Chairman of the Council and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
At the 14th National Party Congress, he was elected to the Party Central Committee.
The Ministry of Education and Training currently has four deputy ministers: Pham Ngoc Thuong, Nguyen Van Phuc, Le Tan Dung and Le Quan.
