The swimsuit round of the 74th Miss Universe pageant lit up Pattaya, Thailand, on November 14, with more than 100 contestants taking to the beachfront runway. One of the most anticipated segments of the competition, the event highlighted not only the contestants’ physical confidence but also their cultural expression through swimsuit designs.
Representing Vietnam, Nguyen Huong Giang - born in 1991 and standing 1.7 meters tall - stepped onto the catwalk with grace and poise. Although her body language showed some lingering stiffness, her determination and energy resonated with Vietnamese fans watching the show online.
Under the bright Pattaya sun, contestants strutted in swimsuits that reflected vibrant cultural themes and striking color palettes. From tribal motifs to contemporary flair, the fashion choices captured a worldwide audience.
The competition also saw standout performances from beauty powerhouses such as the Philippines, Thailand, Colombia, and Venezuela - countries known for grooming top-tier candidates. Thailand’s representative impressed as host, showcasing flawless curves and a powerful walk. The Philippines’ contestant displayed confidence born from experience, affirming her place among the favorites.
Colombia’s representative earned loud cheers with her strong, assertive presence and glowing brown skin. Côte d'Ivoire’s contestant delivered a radiant performance, while Costa Rica’s brought a refreshing sharpness and elegance to the stage.
While the swimsuit competition celebrates physical form, it has evolved into a celebration of strength, health, and authenticity. The upbeat music, outdoor setting, and fashion-forward flair transformed the segment into a high-energy runway show.
The semifinal and final rounds of Miss Universe 2025 are scheduled for November 19 and 21.
