Under the resolution, during its third session in 2027, the National Assembly will review a wide range of issues, including socio-economic performance, state budget revenues and expenditures, anti-waste measures, law enforcement, detention and custody practices, environmental protection, and drug prevention.
For key national projects, the supervision will focus on the implementation of resolutions related to the North - South high-speed railway, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, pilot mechanisms for developing urban railway networks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and the Long Thanh International Airport project.
At its fourth session, the National Assembly will consider a thematic supervision report on the management and use of public assets, particularly office buildings, following the restructuring of administrative units and organizational systems.
In addition, lawmakers will oversee the implementation of special mechanisms and policies designed to drive breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, as well as specific development policies for localities such as Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, and Nghe An.
The supervision agenda also includes major transport infrastructure projects such as Ring Road 4 in the Hanoi Capital Region, Ring Road 3 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway (phase 1), the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway (phase 1), and the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway (phase 1).
Focus on public asset management after administrative restructuring
The National Assembly also approved a resolution establishing a supervisory delegation to examine the implementation of policies and laws governing the management and use of public office assets following administrative restructuring.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Hong has been appointed head of the delegation. The standing deputy head is Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee.
Other deputy heads include Phan Chi Hieu, Chairman of the Legal and Judicial Committee, and Le Thi Nga, Chairwoman of the Committee for Public Aspirations and Oversight.
Members of the delegation will include National Assembly deputies, experts, and representatives from relevant agencies.
The supervision aims to assess the current state of management and use of office assets, determine overall needs, and guide the arrangement, allocation, and handling of facilities to ensure proper working conditions under the new administrative structure, while preventing waste and loss of state property.
The delegation is also tasked with identifying shortcomings, clarifying responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals, and addressing both institutional and practical challenges in implementation.
Based on its findings, the National Assembly will draw lessons and propose solutions to improve policies and enhance the efficiency of managing and using public office assets.
The supervision will cover the Government, ministries, ministerial-level agencies, People’s Councils and People’s Committees at provincial and municipal levels, as well as other relevant organizations and individuals.
