On the morning of August 18, the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department (A05), in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Association, organized KOL Summit 2025, discussing the role of KOLs in the new era.
The event gathered nearly 300 prominent KOLs from 34 provinces and cities across the country. This was the first national-scale event of its kind in Vietnam, aiming at creating a forum to connect the KOL community with regulators, businesses, and platforms to collectively promote values and drive sustainable national development in the digital era.
In his opening remarks, Major General Le Xuan Minh, Director of A05, stated that in the digital age, where national borders extend to every internet connection point, KOLs have become a unique force, contributing to shaping societal awareness, guiding trends, promoting creativity, and spreading Vietnam’s cultural identity and values worldwide.
“KOLs are not just trendsetters; they are digital ambassadors playing a crucial role in building Vietnam and advancing the four foundational pillars for a new national era. As the country undergoes significant transformations, KOLs serve as a vital force, partnering with the Party, the State, and the people to build a digital economy, culture, and society that is rich in identity and sustainable,” said the Director of A05.
Minh further emphasized that the Party and the State always pay special attention to KOLs, issuing policies to foster a healthy environment where the values of truth, goodness, and beauty are strongly promoted.
KOLs must be deeply aware of the impact of their words, images, and actions. Regulatory agencies, tech platforms, and others need to collaborate to guide, support, and create a healthy environment for KOLs to uphold patriotism, leverage their positive influence, and promote the development of the economy, culture, society, and national communication.
A significant highlight of the conference was the establishment of the “Digital Trust Alliance,” uniting reputable KOLs/KOCs, businesses, media agencies, and platforms to promote positive values, build trust, and establish standards. The alliance will serve as a bridge to enhance transparency, professionalism, and responsibility in online activities.
The conference also officially launched the “Influencer Trust” program, an initiative to promote “responsible influence” through communication campaigns, establishing ethical standards and codes of conduct for the KOL community, and a system to evaluate and certify the credibility, transparency, trust, and responsibility of KOLs/KOCs.
Nguyen Lac Huy (KOL Huy NL), founder of Schannel, noted that KOLs have significant opportunities as state agencies have begun collaborating with them in communication efforts. For instance, Schannel has partnered with various agencies and organizations for major, large-scale communication programs.
