Hundreds of dead horseshoe crabs have been found at Co To beaches in the northern province of Quang Ninh over the recent days.

Dead horseshoe crabs have polluted the environment

According to local authorities, several ships bought huge amounts of horseshoe crabs in Co To island district. 

However, due to the hot weather over the past days, many of the purchased horseshoe crabs died, so ship owners threw them to the sea. 

The horseshoe crabs drifted to Co To beaches due to tides and waves. 

The dead horseshoe crabs have polluted the beaches. 

Local authorities and residents have been collecting the crabs to protect the environment.

The authorities will check and deal with violations.
