The figure was released by the Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) at a press briefing on January 28 in Hanoi.

In 2015, as many as 115,980 were employed overseas, surpassing the year’s target by 22 percent. The women accounted for 33.3 percent.

This year marks the second consecutive year that Vietnamese exported labourers exceeded 100,000.

Taiwan (China) is the top market for Vietnamese workers with 67,121 labourers, or 57.87 percent. It is followed by Japan with 27,010 workers, or 23.23 percent; and the Republic of Korea with 6,019 workers, 9 percent higher than the target.
