From October 20 - 22, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion under the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province coordinated with the People's Committee of Bien Ho commune, Pleiku city to organize a fair to introduce products from ethnic minority and mountainous areas, to contribute to the implementation of the National Target Program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2023.

The fair was organized at the hall of Ia Nueng Village in Bien Ho Commune, Pleiku City, with 30 stalls introducing coffee, products, medicinal products, essential oils, fruits and vegetables, and many local agricultural products. Particularly, there were 5 booths displaying products of Bien Ho commune, 25 booths of households, cooperatives, and businesses in the province.

The organizers expected that the fair would help enhance trade promotion, connection, and support the consumption of agricultural products between production and business establishments, cooperatives, thereby, promoting production and business in ethnic minority areas based on local potentials and strengths; encouraging local people to boldly start businesses, create jobs and livelihoods to diversify income sources and improve material and spiritual life; and at the same time preserving and promoting the cultural values of the ethnic minority community in the area.

So far this year, localities of Gia Lai province have organized 10 trade promotion events to promote the sales of local products, especially OCOP products such as vegetables, fruits, honey, pork and 38 preprocessed products such as coffee, macadamia nuts, salted cashews, and dried jackfruit, tea... All products introduced at these events were carefully selected by localities and evaluated as typical local products, with clear origin, place of origin, etc.
