On the afternoon of January 19, Dak Lak Provincial Police confirmed that a joint operation had been launched to save the stranded visitors, both of whom were caught in turbulent surf and pinned against a coastal rock formation.

At around 7:58 a.m. that morning, a group of five - four foreign tourists from the United States, Germany, and Denmark, along with a local tour guide - visited Bai Tien beach in Vung Ro Hamlet, Hoa Xuan Commune.
While swimming, two tourists, identified as N.T. (German national) and V.D. (Danish national), were caught by powerful waves and pushed into a crevice within the rocky shore. Their situation quickly became life-threatening.
Upon receiving the emergency call, the provincial Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department immediately dispatched a team of eight officers and specialized equipment to the site.
At the time, rough seas and strong waves made the rescue operation particularly difficult, hampering efforts to reach the trapped individuals.
With support from Hoa Xuan Commune Police, Mobile Police Forces, and the Vung Ro Port Border Guard Station, the rescue team managed to reach and secure the victims.
By 9:30 a.m., after more than an hour of navigating challenging conditions, both tourists were successfully brought to safety.
