With 3,021 units sold, the hybrid version of the Toyota Innova Cross led the hybrid market in Vietnam last year. Out of 8,096 Innova Cross cars sold, hybrids made up 37.3% of total sales.

Launched in October 2023, the Innova Cross came in two variants: the 2.0 V and the 2.0 HEV, priced at USD 33,500 and USD 40,800 respectively. A more affordable G variant (USD 29,600) was introduced at the end of 2025.

The hybrid version pairs a 2.0L gasoline engine (150 hp, 188 Nm torque) with an electric motor (111 hp, 206 Nm torque), delivering a quiet and efficient ride tailored for city use.

2. Toyota Corolla Cross HEV – 2,926 units

Just behind the Innova Cross, the Toyota Corolla Cross HEV sold 2,926 units - 33.6% of the model’s total 8,708 units in 2025.

First introduced in Vietnam in August 2020, the Corolla Cross HEV was the country’s first mass-market hybrid. In 2024, the lineup was streamlined to two versions: the V and HEV, priced at USD 33,300 and USD 36,800. The hybrid runs on a 1.8L gasoline engine and electric motor, generating a total of 105 hp via a CVT transmission.

Suzuki's XL7 Hybrid ranked third with 2,633 units sold, representing a massive 75.3% of Suzuki’s passenger vehicle sales in Vietnam.

From August 2024, the XL7 was available exclusively in hybrid form. Imported from Indonesia, this updated model includes a compact lithium-ion battery and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which supports the 103 hp engine paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Priced at USD 24,300, it remains a top choice for budget-conscious hybrid buyers.

The CR-V lineup also includes G, L, and L AWD variants, priced between USD 41,300 and USD 50,600. The hybrid version is expected to be locally assembled in Vietnam starting in 2026.
