Five train carriages named O Cau Den, O Quan Chuong, O Cau Giay, O Cho Dua and O Dong Mac - landmarks closely tied to the history of the old imperial capital - have been decorated like the living rooms of traditional Hanoi families.

The cultural tourism train “Hanoi 5 Gates - The Hanoi Train” has officially launched a special program titled “Carrying Spring Home” from February 17 to March 8, 2026.
This season, the Thang Long - Kinh Bac journey is not simply a series of trips. It is conceived as a “moving pause” of the spirit, where individuals and families can find a reunion with memory and Hanoi’s identity through the atmosphere of old Tet and new spring.
Tet - the season of reunion, gratitude and return to one’s roots - has long been a sacred moment in the Vietnamese consciousness. Although modern life has simplified many customs and transformed certain rituals, the longing for a warm spring gathering and the flavor of tradition remains something many people wish to touch again.

Inspired by that desire, five carriages named O Cau Den, O Quan Chuong, O Cau Giay, O Cho Dua and O Dong Mac - places deeply embedded in the history of the capital - have been transformed into spaces reminiscent of traditional Hanoi living rooms. Within this setting, visitors of all generations can connect through a shared experience of culture, heritage, art, cuisine and spirituality.
“Carrying Spring Home” is thus envisioned as an annual spring appointment - a place where hope, memory and the spirit of return converge. From a cultural perspective, it also represents an effort to bring heritage into contemporary life through immersive experience rather than static display or mere nostalgia. In doing so, it contributes to nurturing identity at a time when the creative economy and cultural industries are being shaped as new drivers of development.

A representative of The Hanoi Train shared: “The train is only the visible vehicle; what we truly carry is the feeling of returning home. In a fast-moving society, we believe that slowing down and touching the depth of culture and memory is a genuine need. The Thang Long - Kinh Bac journey is a pause, a time door - where individuals and families can experience culture together, meet Tet again and revisit old memories.”
