A scene from The Journey of Heroes, which has surpassed Tran Thanh's Dad, I'm Sorry at the Vietnamese box office.

Released on September 25, The Journey of Heroes has dominated the Vietnamese box office for more than three consecutive weeks.

According to Box Office Vietnam, as of 5 p.m. on October 17, the film had grossed VND 447 billion (approximately US$17 million), officially surpassing Tran Thanh's Dad, I'm Sorry, which earned VND 395 billion.

The achievement places The Journey of Heroes sixth among the highest-grossing Vietnamese films of all time.
The film was expected to overtake Tran Thanh's Bunny!! (VND 450 billion) on October 18, potentially entering the all-time top five.

With its continued dominance at the box office, The Journey of Heroes could finish its theatrical run with earnings of VND 500 billion (US$19 million).

Close behind is Death Whisperer: Saming the Werebeast, the fourth installment in a Thai horror franchise that has enjoyed considerable popularity in Vietnam.

The film officially opened in Vietnamese cinemas on October 16.

Before its nationwide release, it generated VND 10 billion (US$380,000) from 135,000 tickets sold during just two days of preview screenings, setting a box office record for a horror film in Vietnam.

Its total revenue has now exceeded VND 17 billion (US$646,000).

Following the success of the previous three installments and an extensive promotional campaign featuring cast appearances in Vietnam, Death Whisperer: Saming the Werebeast has continued to demonstrate the distributor's creative marketing approach.

A series of promotional activities has been introduced to distinguish the latest installment, including a poster design competition for cinema employees.

The submitted artworks were displayed at cinemas, while selected designs were also used as official promotional posters on digital platforms.

The campaign attracted considerable attention and sparked lively discussions on social media.

The film's Vietnamese-dubbed version has also helped broaden its appeal to new audience groups.

This marks the first installment in the Death Whisperer franchise to receive a Vietnamese-language dub featuring humorous localization.

The adaptation incorporates distinctive Vietnamese regional accents and dialogue inspired by popular online trends, adding comedic elements and offering audiences a different viewing experience.

Third place at the box office belongs to the animated film Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom.

Despite opening on the same day as Death Whisperer: Saming the Werebeast, the animated feature has earned only VND 3 billion (US$114,000).

Meanwhile, the R-rated thriller Verity, starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, has struggled to attract Vietnamese moviegoers despite receiving positive reviews and performing well in North America.

According to Box Office Vietnam figures recorded at 5 p.m. on October 17, the film ranked fourth with revenue of just VND 1 billion (US$38,000).

Rounding out the top five is The Almost Perfect Murder, featuring Anh Tu Atus.

Released the previous week, the film has faced numerous negative audience comments.

After nine days in cinemas, it has earned only VND 13 billion (US$494,000), raising concerns that it could fail to recover its production and distribution costs.
