South Korean K League 2 side Cheonan City has acquired two young talents from Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) on loan.

Cheonan City announced the duo's signings on Sunday.

Vu Minh Hieu and Nguyen Canh Anh will be joining the newly-promoted club as it prepares to compete in the tournament starting March 1 and ending December 9.

The club officially announced the loan signings of the two players on Sunday. They have since trained with their new team and are ready to contribute to its success in the upcoming season.

Sports Naver, a South Korean newspaper, highlighted the potential of the two young prospects.

Anh has been called up by Coach Park Hang-seo to play for U22 Viet Nam, while Hieu has been dubbed the "new Cong Phuong" of HAGL.

Despite their youth, both players have already made their senior team debuts for HAGL.

In the 2022 season, midfielder Anh (born in 2000) and striker Hiếu (born in 2003) signed for Hai Phong FC on loan and contributed significantly to the team finishing runners-up in the V.League 2022.

Before signing the one-year loan contract in South Korea, Hieu and Anh showed their talent in a friendly match against Gangwon FC, who play in the K League 1.

While paying for Cheonan City, Hieu and Anh will face former teammate Nguyễn Văn Toàn, who also recently joined Seoul E-Land of K League 2. The coach of Seoul E-Land is Park Choong-kyun, who formerly led Hanoi FC.

Cheonan City FC will meet Busan Ipark on March 1 in the first match of the season. This will most likely the official debut of the Vietnamese players.

Cheonan City are based in Cheonan. They play their home games at the 26,000-capacity Cheonan Stadium.

The team were founded in 2008 and are led by coach Park Nam-yeol. VNS
