Vietnam's automobile market has entered the fourth quarter of 2026 with increasingly aggressive promotions. Discounts are no longer limited to older inventory, as several popular sedans, SUVs and MPVs are also receiving substantial price reductions and financial incentives, giving buyers more opportunities to secure better deals before the year ends.
A VietNamNet survey found that major mainstream brands, including Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Mazda, Kia, Ford, Subaru and Omoda & Jaecoo, are offering a wide range of incentives.
These include direct cash discounts, registration fee support, complimentary accessories, fuel vouchers and interest-free financing during the initial months of ownership.
Popular models receive 50-100% registration fee support

Toyota is continuing its registration fee support program in October for several best-selling models.
The Yaris Cross HEV, one of the market's leading models equipped with an internal combustion engine, receives support covering 100% of its registration fee, equivalent to approximately $2,810. The gasoline-powered version receives support worth around $1,930.
The Vios G-CVT and Veloz Cross CVT TOP also qualify for 100% registration fee support, equivalent to approximately $2,080 and $2,540, respectively.
These benefits exclude additional promotions involving insurance, financing rates and other incentives.
Meanwhile, Toyota is offering support equivalent to 50% of the registration fee for the Corolla Cross and Innova Cross.
Honda has introduced a similar promotional program in October, with incentives focused primarily on registration fee assistance.
All versions of the Honda BR-V receive support equivalent to 100% of the registration fee, worth approximately $2,430-2,740 depending on the variant.
For the B-segment HR-V SUV, the G version qualifies for full registration fee support worth about $2,430, while the e RS hybrid receives 50% support, equivalent to approximately $1,620.
The HR-V L version, meanwhile, comes with gifts valued at around $1,930.
Mitsubishi is also extending registration fee incentives across several models.
The popular Xpander MPV receives 100% registration fee support along with fuel vouchers, bringing the total promotional value to approximately $2,580-3,660, depending on the version.
The Mitsubishi Xforce is similarly eligible for full registration fee support, equivalent to around $2,310-2,770.
American automaker Ford is offering 100% registration fee support for the Territory Trend, while certain higher-end variants receive direct discounts of approximately $2,310.
The Ranger Wildtrak 3.0L 4x4 also qualifies for 100% registration fee support for the first time, representing a benefit worth approximately $5,590.
Hyundai, Omoda & Jaecoo and Subaru offer major cash discounts

Beyond registration fee incentives, several mainstream models are seeing substantial cash discounts in October, with reductions on some vehicles exceeding $3,850.
Hyundai stands out with its Santa Fe SUV, which is receiving incentives of up to approximately $8,480 from the automaker and dealers.
The smaller Stargazer MPV is discounted by around $4,120-4,510.
Other Hyundai models are also benefiting from significant promotions.
The Accent sedan is available with discounts of approximately $3,040-3,430, while the popular Creta and Tucson SUVs receive reductions ranging from about $2,310 to $3,040.
The larger Palisade SUV is discounted by around $2,620.
Smaller models, including the Grand i10 and Venue, are also being offered with reductions of approximately $1,080-1,930.
Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam is maintaining aggressive promotions across three model lines in October: the Jaecoo J5, Jaecoo J7 and Omoda C5.
The Jaecoo J5 EV Flagship comes with a promotional package involving 25 years of free charging, valued at approximately $4,620, with that amount deducted directly from the selling price. Additional gifts are also included.
Following the incentive, the electric SUV's effective selling price is approximately $23,310.
The Jaecoo J5 SHS-H and Omoda C5 SHS-H hybrid models receive discounts of approximately $4,240 and $5,200, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Jaecoo J7 C-segment SUV is available across its variants for approximately $27,320-33,870, reflecting reductions of around $3,080-3,470 from the listed prices.
Subaru is offering some of the largest discounts in the mainstream segment this October, particularly for vehicles manufactured in previous years.
The steep reductions highlight the growing pressure on automakers and dealerships to clear older inventory as 2026 draws to a close.
Among SUVs and crossovers, the Subaru Crosstrek is one of the most notable examples.
The 2024 VIN Crosstrek 2.0 i-S EyeSight is discounted by approximately $11,140, bringing its price down to around $31,170.
The 2.0 i-S EyeSight e-Boxer Hybrid version receives an even larger reduction of approximately $12,680, lowering its price to about $36,180.
For vehicles with 2025 VINs, the corresponding discounts are approximately $8,050 and $10,370.
The 2025 VIN Subaru Outback also receives a reduction of approximately $5,550, bringing its selling price down to around $62,620.
Meanwhile, Subaru's best-selling model, the new-generation Forester, is no longer being offered with direct price reductions. Instead, customers receive a complimentary maintenance package.
Heavy discounts on older vehicles are not a new phenomenon in Vietnam's automobile market. However, the scale of the latest reductions suggests that manufacturers and dealers are facing mounting pressure to manage unsold inventory.
Vehicles that remain unsold heading into 2027 will be considered older stock, even if they were manufactured in 2026, potentially making them less attractive to buyers.
For consumers, October is offering a wider range of purchasing opportunities.
However, advertised promotional values do not always translate into equivalent reductions in the actual purchase price.
Buyers should carefully check the vehicle's manufacturing year, vehicle identification number (VIN), specific variant, eligibility conditions and the structure of each promotional package before making a decision.
With abundant supply, a steady stream of new models entering the market and increasingly intense price competition, automakers and dealers are likely to maintain aggressive promotions throughout the final months of the year.
