Two LGBT rights organisations in Viet Nam have sent an open letter to Viet Nam Television complaining about discrimination of LGBT people in an annual comedy that "should not appear on a national channel".

 The 16th Vietnam Poetry Day is scheduled to take place from February 27 to March 2 in Hanoi with a wide range of activities, said poet Huu Thinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association.

 The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018, themed “The Legend of Bridges”, will kick off on April 30 and end on June 30 with the participation of Vietnam and seven foreign teams.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has requested the northern province of Vinh Phuc to tighten control over the organising of the Hai Luu buffalo fighting festival in the local district of Song Lo.

Many telephone booths in Hanoi have been decorated with colourful paintings carried out by young volunteers.

An exhibition of paintings on 2018 Lunar New Year (the Year of the Dog) will open at Dong A Gallery in Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi on February 25.

 Vietnamese typical dishes during Tet

 The capital city of Hanoi will organise a dragon boat racing festival for the first time from 10:00 to 15:00 on February 24.

 The festival began with a ritual worshipping the guardian deity at the local communal house. A palanquin procession took offerings from the communal house to the Au Co Temple to pray for peace, good weather, prosperity and happiness.

 Many people flock to Chu Van An Temple in Thanh Liet Commune, Thanh Tri District every year to attend the new-year writing festival. 

From the afternoon of the 7th day of the first lunar month (February 22), people flock to Nam Dinh for a unique market which is held only once a year to sell - guess what - bad luck as well as to buy good luck for the year to come.

Following its first successful show in January, Phu Sa Lab will perform Loi Cua Tre (Words from Bamboo) on Sunday.
