According to Fox Business and Philippine media reports, on June 8, Nguyen, a 34-year-old Vietnamese passenger, stripped naked at NAIA following an argument over an overstaying visa fee.

Security personnel had requested payment before allowing her to check in for her flight back to Ho Chi Minh City after her vacation.

"We don't understand why she did that. She intended to take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City but had a visa problem," said an airport employee.

After disputing the fee, Nguyen retreated to the women's restroom before returning unclothed to the security checkpoint.

Airport security intervened promptly, providing her with clothing and water to calm the situation. Fortunately, the incident caused no harm to others or flight disruptions at NAIA.

"We had difficulty communicating, she did not understand Filipino and did not speak English very well. She only spoke Vietnamese so we had to chat using Google Translate, but everything was fine," explained Manuel Sequitin of the Philippine Security and Emergency Management Agency.

Following a medical examination, Nguyen agreed to settle the visa overstay fine and was later accommodated on a flight to Hanoi on June 9.
