Vietravel Airlines, belonging to Vietravel - one of the country’s largest tour operators - plans to launch its first flight early next year.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung recently signed Decision No. 457/QD-TTg approving the Vietravel Airlines project of Vietravel - one of the country’s largest tour operators.

 The country’s newest carrier Vietravel Airlines has delayed its launch plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With more airlines planning to take flight in 2020, the room for profit-making is expected to narrow in the burgeoning aviation market, triggering doubts over the possibility of achieving success among newcomers.

Vietnam Travel Airlines Co., Ltd, or Vietravel Airlines, on November 4 announced the appointment of Livio Arizzi, an Italian pilot, as the firm’s deputy general director as part of its airline establishment plan.

Vietravel has raised VND700 billion (US$30.16 million) by issuing bonds, with the cash set to go towards its aviation ambitions.

Vietravel Airlines, an airline just established by local tour operator Vietravel, plans to launch its maiden flight in October next year.
