The information was shared during a press briefing with media leaders on Tuesday morning regarding land clearance work across the capital.

“To achieve GRDP growth targets and strive for double-digit growth in 2026, Hanoi considers accelerating land clearance and unlocking land resources an urgent and central task,” the vice chairman said.

According to Truong Viet Dung, the Hanoi People’s Committee has focused on resolving obstacles related to compensation, support policies and resettlement in order to speed up project implementation, particularly strategic transport infrastructure, regional connectivity projects and other key developments.

Every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, city leaders hold meetings to review progress and site inventories.

Relevant agencies are required to clearly report any changes compared to the previous week in order to identify unresolved bottlenecks.

“We monitor where progress increases or slows down and determine which bottlenecks require concentrated action. This is an issue we inspect rigorously,” the vice chairman said.

The Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee directly oversees, conducts site inspections and reviews weekly progress for key projects.

The committee has also established a steering committee for land clearance of major city projects, headed by the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, while a vice chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee serves as standing deputy head.

Nine major projects under development

According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, land clearance work has shown clear improvement since the final two months of 2025, with several long-delayed projects finally completing site clearance procedures.

These include four bridges crossing the Red River - Hong Ha, Me So, Van Phuc and Ngoc Hoi - as well as the Ring Road 1 section connecting Hoang Cau and Voi Phuc, the Ring Road 4 project in the Capital Region, the traffic interchange surrounding the Chu Van An memorial area linked with Road 70, and Tam Trinh Road.

The city is currently focusing on land clearance for Ring Roads 2.5, 3 and 3.5, along with other major transport routes and the remaining three Red River bridges - Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao and Thuong Cat.

Authorities aim to complete clearance work before June 30, 2026 for the bridges and remaining sections of Ring Road 2.5.

In addition, Hanoi is implementing land clearance and construction for nine major projects, including the Olympic Sports Urban Area, the Red River landscape boulevard, and the Hanoi Medical University healthcare and elderly care complex in Hoang Mai Ward.

Other projects include the Digital Technology and Mixed-Use Park in Phu Dien and Tay Tuu wards, the National Highway 1A spatial corridor redevelopment project combined with urban renewal under a BT-style PPP model, and the project to renovate and enhance the value of the West Lake area and its surrounding scenic roads under a BT contract model.

The city is also developing three multi-purpose urban areas in Thu Lam and Dong Anh communes, Thien Loc - Phuc Thinh and Me Linh under the Bac Thang Long Urban City project, as well as Binh Minh and Tam Hung.

According to city authorities, Hanoi will continue identifying land clearance as a central and urgent task in the coming period, ensuring transparency, legal compliance and protection of residents’ lawful rights and interests.

The city also plans to strengthen dialogue, public communication and community outreach, while promptly resolving difficulties at the grassroots level.

At the same time, authorities said they will ensure resettlement conditions, livelihoods and infrastructure support so residents can stabilize their lives.
