The transport group accounts for the largest share of investment and is expected to play a critical role in improving regional connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

The largest project is the Can Gio - Vung Tau sea-crossing route, with a total investment of more than VND93 trillion ($3.56 billion). The project will span more than 14 kilometers and be implemented under a build-transfer (BT) model between 2026 and 2029.

Another major development is the Ho Tram - Long Thanh International Airport urban expressway. The 42-kilometer route will feature six traffic lanes and parallel service roads, with an investment of VND47.1 trillion ($1.8 billion). Construction is scheduled from 2026 to 2029.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway will also enter a new phase as construction begins on its first component project. The 51-kilometer route linking Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province will include four lanes and carry a total investment of VND22.98 trillion ($878 million).

The Binh Tien Bridge and Road project will stretch 3.66 kilometers between Pham Van Chi Street and Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard. The project, which includes a main bridge and parallel roads, has a total investment of VND6.3 trillion ($241 million) and is scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2028.

Meanwhile, the interchange connecting Rung Sac Road with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway will require VND3 trillion ($115 million). The project will include a roundabout, a 760-meter underpass and an additional bridge along the expressway corridor.

Waterfront and environmental projects worth $1.4 billion

The Ben Nha Rong - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park and Saigon River waterfront green space project is one of the city’s most ambitious urban redevelopment schemes. With an investment of VND30 trillion (approximately $1.15 billion), the project will cover more than 162 hectares across five zones along the Saigon River and Ca Tre Canal.

Another project focuses on environmental improvement in neighboring Binh Duong, where a VND7.21 trillion ($276 million) wastewater collection and pumping network will be developed for Tan Uyen, Thuan An and Di An.

The port will cover 351.2 hectares and feature approximately 6.85 kilometers of wharves. Designed to handle up to 11 million TEUs annually, it will be capable of accommodating ultra-large container vessels of up to 250,000 tons, equivalent to 24,000 TEUs.

The project carries a total investment of VND50.2 trillion, or about $1.92 billion.

Five social housing projects to add more than 8,800 homes

To address growing housing demand among workers and low-income residents, five social housing projects with a combined investment of more than VND4.8 trillion ($184 million) will also break ground.

The Dinh Hoa Zones 3 and 4 project in Chanh Hiep Ward will provide 4,368 apartments in 20-story residential towers.
