A large sinkhole has emerged in the median strip of National Highway 3B, passing through Hiep Luc Village, Kim Lu Commune, Na Ri District, Bac Kan Province.
Sudden collapse shocks residents

On March 29, Trương Quang Trong, Chairman of the Kim Lu Commune People’s Committee, confirmed the appearance of the sinkhole, which measures about 5 meters deep and 5 meters in circumference. It formed right in the center of the median strip of National Highway 3B.
Local authorities have erected warning signs and temporarily banned vehicles from passing through the affected area to ensure public safety.
Residents reported hearing a loud noise the previous night (March 29), and upon inspection the next morning, they discovered the massive sinkhole and immediately notified authorities.

Investigation and temporary measures
Upon receiving the report, the Bac Kan Department of Construction coordinated with technical experts from Na Ri District to inspect the site, place warning signs, and investigate the cause of the sinkhole.
Initial assessments from experts suggest that the sinkhole was likely caused by weak geological formations, rather than human activities. The Bac Kan Department of Construction plans to carry out temporary repairs today to restore traffic flow.
