He emphasized that Vietnam's long history, rich cultural heritage, and dynamic people offer vast potential for tourism growth. In that context, Ninh Binh stands out with its dramatic landscapes and deeply layered cultural identity.

Following its recent administrative reorganization, Ninh Binh has expanded its development space and adopted a renewed vision, positioning itself for breakthrough growth in tourism and creative industries.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong emphasized the powerful synergy between Vietnam’s cultural and natural resources and the global film industry - particularly Indian cinema. He said that integrating Vietnamese beauty with international cinematic excellence would help promote the country’s image and attract more international tourists.

Film, heritage and sustainable tourism at the heart of Ninh Binh's vision

At the same event, Tran Song Tung, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee, affirmed that tourism and cultural industries are now key economic pillars in the province’s development strategy.

The province’s goal is to become a centrally-governed city, in line with Resolution No. I of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Congress. To achieve this, the province is pushing ahead with landmark initiatives, including the preparation of UNESCO registration dossiers for the Tam Chuc Complex and the Van Long Nature Reserve.

The aim is to elevate Ninh Binh’s global standing on the heritage and tourism map, expanding conservation space and attracting strategic cultural investment.

With its layered heritage, unique geological formations, and strong sense of place, Ninh Binh offers an ideal backdrop for film production, luxury tourism, international events, and destination weddings, said Vice Chairman Tran Song Tung.

He noted that the province is developing detailed plans for tourism zoning, heritage preservation, and dedicated film production areas. These will provide favorable conditions for international filmmakers, production studios, and investors to collaborate and promote Ninh Binh’s image through art and media.

Authorities also pledged to maintain a transparent, investor-friendly environment that supports innovation, creativity, and sustainable development in both tourism and cultural industries.

Indian producers praise Vietnam's landscape and vision

During the conference, Indian film directors and producers expressed strong interest in Ninh Binh. They praised the province’s striking natural beauty, reasonable production costs, and strong support from local authorities as key advantages for future film projects.

They also reaffirmed their confidence that with support from Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and local governments, more Indian films will be produced in the country - building on the recent success of Love in Vietnam, which was filmed in Vietnam and has already made waves in Indian cinema circles.
