General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, attended a Vietnam - Singapore business roundtable in the city-state on March 13.

The lady highlighted the countries’ growing friendship and cooperation and expressed Vietnam’s wish to further step up cultural exchanges and learn from Singapore’s experience in preserving and developing a diverse and modern culture.

During a policy speech at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that Vietnam’s path to prosperity lies in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Vietnam and Singapore have officially elevated their diplomatic relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), marking a historic milestone in their nearly 50-year relationship.

This is the first visit to Singapore by Lam in his position as the CPV General Secretary, marking a new milestone in the bilateral relations, and demonstrating Vietnam’s special attention to elevating relations with Singapore to new heights.

Singapore has named a new orchid species after Party General Secretary To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, marked with a ceremony at the Singapore Botanic Gardens on March 12.

Party General Secretary To Lam commended the Vietnamese community in Indonesia who, though smaller than in some other countries, have worked diligently, achieved business success, and made positive contributions to their host society.

Vietnam is committed to creating the best possible conditions for foreign businesses, including Indonesian enterprises, to invest and operate stably and sustainably in the country, said Party General Secretary To Lam.

The concert was a special event within the framework of Party General Secretary To Lam's state visit to Indonesia and official visit to the ASEAN Secretariat.

General Secretary To Lam emphasizes the need for a well-defined strategy to remove barriers and foster the growth of Vietnam’s private sector, which contributes over 50% of GDP but faces structural challenges.

As part of his state visit to Indonesia and Singapore, General Secretary To Lam will make history as the first Vietnamese leader to visit the ASEAN Secretariat, reinforcing Vietnam’s commitment to regional integration.

The Party General Secretary To Lam has stressed the need for bold action in adopting and deploying science, technology, and innovation to improve governance and services for businesses and citizens.

General Secretary To Lam has proposed creating a National Housing Fund for affordable housing and exploring a duty-free port model to position Vietnam as a global logistics hub.
