Role and Scope of the Task
The Area Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple facilities or locations within a specified geographical area. This role ensures that all sites are running efficiently and effectively, meeting the company’s operational standards, and achieving financial targets.
Key Responsibilities: Manage operation of around 6 – 8 stores.
1. Store operations Maximize store revenue: Enable best store Manager
· Manage and train store managers.
· Ensure employment and adequate staffing of stores.
· Carry out checking program with focus on revenue maximization:
Ø Product availability
Ø Price signage
Ø Planogram
· Check execution of marketing measures.
2. Store Operations Cost Control:
· Carry out store inventory counts.
· Control (and/or approve) product write offs or price reductions.
· Review every week the store manager’s staff planning.
· Sign off costs.
3. Store operations financial control
· Day ends – total store cash balance to be checked at every store visit.
· Bank transfers to be checked at every visit.
4. Staff Management:
· Recruit, train, and develop store managers and staff to maintain high performance and morale.
· Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to store managers.
· Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
5. Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
· Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels in each store.
· Coordinate with the supply chain team to manage stock replenishment and distribution.
· Implement loss prevention measures to minimize shrinkage and theft.
