Job Description

  • New Business Development:

    o Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding sector.

    o Act as the primary liaison with customers on all business-related matters.

    o Obtain freehand business and proactively generate and follow up on sales leads.

    o Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and expand the customer base.

    Client Relationship Management:

    o Provide timely and competitive quotations to customers.

    o Conduct regular visits to existing and potential clients to build and maintain strong relationships.

    o Follow up with clients for outstanding payments, collaborating with the Accounting Department to ensure timely collections.

    Market Analysis and Strategy:

    o Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.

    o Develop concepts and strategies aimed at increasing cargo volumes and improving financial results on key trade lanes.

    o Analyze trade lane performance and identify opportunities for growth.

    Product and Service Development:

    o Collaborate with product management and operational units to plan, develop, and implement attractive products and services.

    o Actively promote Rhenus’s products and services to customers, overseas partners, and internal teams.

    o Transfer knowledge and market insights of trade lanes to overseas partners and local staff.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay informed about changes in market regulations on trade lanes.
    • Communicate compliance requirements and updates to relevant parties within the organization.
  • Reporting and Communication:

    • Update the Sales system (SUGAR) with the latest information on client interactions and sales activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market intelligence.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in marketing, business management, logistics or any related fields.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Freight Forwarding industry is a must.
  • Proven experience of sales in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Proven track record in business development with a focus on "hunting" sales roles.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); competency in Chinese is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and general PC operations.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assertive, independent, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across different departments and cultures.
