ROLE

Leverage your expertise in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) to meticulously analyze, optimize, and validate the performance of various products across key metrics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Aligning Critical Criteria and Specifications.

- Research criteria and specifications for specific products according to the NPD plan.

- Understand how products operate and collaborate closely with design engineers to define key features and functions.

- Prepare presentations and align critical criteria for products.

Building and Analyzing Finite Element Models (FEMs)

- Build FEMs of various product components using industry-standard CAE software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus,SolidWorks Simulation).

- Perform static structural, dynamic, thermal, and potentially other relevant analyses (depending on the product) to assess performance under various loading conditions.

- Analyze FEA results to evaluate factors such as:◦ Air leakage rates (windows & doors)◦ Structural integrity (all products)◦ Deflection under load (all products)◦ Water penetration resistance (windows & doors, wall skins)◦ Fatigue life (all products)◦ Thermal performance (all products)◦ Acoustic performance (potentially relevant for specific products)

Optimizing Design and Performance

- Identify areas for design optimization based on analysis results.

- Propose and implement design modifications in collaboration with design engineers to improve performance across various metrics.

- Develop and implement standardized test procedures for evaluating product performance in accordance with relevant industry standards.

Contributing to Continuous Improvement

- Document analysis results and recommendations clearly and concisely.

- Stay up-to-date on the latest CAE technologies and advancements in relevant engineering fields (structural, thermal,acoustics, etc.).

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the CAE analysis process and methodologies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Coordinate and facilitate with suppliers as required by project specifications.

- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to address standard clarifications and modifications.

- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in standards..

QUALIFICATIONS

Background

-      Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CAE or a related field

-      Minimum 3+ years of experience in CAE analysis, with a proven track record of optimizing performance in various product categories (experience with building envelope products a plus).

Skills and Knowledge

-      Expertise in industry-standard CAE software packages (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation) with a focus on structural, thermal, and potentially other relevant analysis types.

-      In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics, heat transfer principles, and engineering materials (knowledge of various materials used in our products is a plus).

-      Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

-      Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate complex technical information to design engineers and other stakeholders.

-      Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

-      Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to achieving optimal performance.

-      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

-      Collaborative engagement with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, and quality control) to ensure cohesive project execution.

-      Interaction with partners and suppliers to source materials and components, fostering productive relationships. And interaction with customer introduce new technical design.
