Taking the lead on identifying opportunities for new architecture, technologies, products, and installation means and methods.
Responsible for all activities involving design, engineer and optimize commercial PV system projects on all levels of technicality and specialization.
Serve as the contact, leading collaborations, and planning with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external engineering and construction firms, and suppliers to drive solutions.
Ensure adherence to local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Assist Business Development department in preparing cost proposal for ME Engineering man-hours/fees and design contact scope of works.
Be proactive and to ensure that key project decisions and/or corrective actions are made in a timely manner, and are well communicated to all staff and client.
Undertake engineering review and validation of design documents prepared by design team to ensure the design is safe, economical, efficient and constructible.
Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
Promote and enforce safety protocols to safeguard personnel and equipment during installation and maintenance.
Lead and participate in the design and development of electrical plan sets, including site layouts and equipment details.
Write, review, and edit construction specifications and engineering reports.
Prepare and direct preparation of designs, specification, plans, estimates and reports for projects.
Other tasks as assigned by management.
Job Requirement
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
4+ Years of experience in solar balance of system design, relation with top tier equipment suppliers, understanding of technology, standards, and market intelligence.
A proven record of accomplishment of taking initiative, demonstrating foresight, creativity, and mature judgment in guiding engineering design at a component-level, project-level, and portfolio level.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant software for creating construction documents and technical drawings.
Strong commercial and financial acumen complemented by proficient technical skills.
Must have exceptional communicative abilities, both written and verbal.
Must have a sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks and projects.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Experience with solar project.
Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and permitting processes.
Experience with financial modeling and cost analysis for renewable energy projects.
