We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fresh Product Buyer (more Fruit) to manage the procurement of fresh produce for our operations. This role requires overseeing the quality and logistics of shipments, building and maintaining a reliable network of suppliers, and actively purchasing fresh products to meet our company’s specifications and standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Control of supplies to our warehouse

· Quality Control: Conduct random quality checks on shipments to ensure they meet our standards.

· Specification Compliance: Ensure products adhere to our expectations regarding size, color, ripeness, shelf life, and type.

· Storage Conditions: Monitor and ensure appropriate storage conditions such as temperature and cleanliness.

· Handling: Occasionally oversee the handling processes to maintain product integrity.

· Transportation Supervision: Supervise the transportation methods used by suppliers to ensure they meet minimum standards, particularly temperature control, to avoid spoilage or damage during transit.

2. Build a Network of Reliable and Suitable Suppliers

· Supplier Network Development: Identify and develop relationships with new suppliers who can meet our growth needs and are not overly dependent on large retailers.

· Risk Mitigation: Reduce our exposure to supply uncertainties by diversifying our supplier base, particularly focusing on suppliers who can provide consistent quality despite local challenges like weather conditions and infrastructure issues.

· Supplier Engagement: Engage with suppliers to encourage long-term partnerships and reliable supply chains.

3. Active Procurement of Fresh Products

Supplier Search and Engagement: Proactively search for and engage with suppliers, ensuring they understand and are interested in long-term cooperation with our company.

Contract Negotiation: Have the authority to negotiate and conclude purchasing contracts with suppliers, farms, and distributors.

Coordination with Central Purchasing: Coordinate purchasing activities closely with the Head Office, ensuring alignment with central purchasing strategies and integrating new suppliers into our supply chain.

Qualifications

-          Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, particularly with fresh products.

-          Strong knowledge of quality control processes and standards.

-          Good communication skills.

-          Detailed oriented and able to handle multitasks.
