Key Responsibilities:

• Rate Management: Check, negotiate, and update ocean freight rates for the US, Canada, and other trade lanes. Manage cost rates for each shipment to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
• Rate/Quotation Management: Prepare and manage quotations for sea freight services, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Manage cost rate for each shipment.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze costs associated with sea freight services to maintain profitable margins while remaining competitive in the market.
• Space Allocation: Request and ensure the best space and rates for company orders to optimize operations.
• Support Functions: Assist the customer service team with space allocation and support the invoicing team in checking and correcting prices.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipping agents to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Market Monitoring: Regularly update and analyze market prices for the assigned areas to stay competitive.
• Market Forecasting: Anticipate market trends and secure backup space as needed to meet demand.
• Reporting: Generate regular reports on pricing activities, market trends, and performance metrics for management review.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in pricing or a related role in the sea freight forwarding industry
• Familiarity with sea freight carriers and pricing structures
• Experience with pricing and tender management systems is a plus
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international shipping regulations
