1/ JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Sourcing Executive is a critical role responsible for sourcing materials, selecting qualified suppliers, and optimizing the procurement process. This role plays a key part in achieving cost savings, improving supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials. The Senior Sourcing Executive also contributes to risk analysis, supplier development, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

2/ ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Sourcing
   • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for new materials.
   • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships for long-term partnerships and development.
2. Sourcing Management
   • Source new items as requested to support various departments within the organization.
   • Utilize a qualification process to identify and select suitable suppliers.
   • Negotiate favorable contract terms to achieve cost savings and maximize value.
3. Resource Management
   • Manage internal resources effectively to support sourcing and costing for new projects.
   • Ensure timely completion of sourcing activities to meet project requirements.
4. Risk Mitigation
   • Identify materials that pose future risks, such as obsolescence, sole sourcing, or high costs.
   • Propose alternative solutions to mitigate these risks effectively.
   • Ensure timely and accurate procurement activities

5. Technical Expertise

• Understand materials used in OEM and fabrication.
• Identify opportunities and alternatives to reduce material costs and lead times.
• Improve the costing process to align with operational speed and market dynamics.
• Analyze BOMs and gain a deep understanding of materials from a technical perspective.
• Perform final gate checks to ensure the accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM) costs.

6. Bidding Process

• Organize bidding processes for high-value purchases to select cost-competitive suppliers.

7. Supplier Engagement

• Visit suppliers for audits, performance feedback, discussions on new technologies, and process improvement consultations.

8. Purchasing

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including issuing purchase orders, receiving goods and services, processing invoices, and resolving payment issues.

1.      Education

·         Bachelor’s degree and prefer in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering.

·         Higher education background is preferred.

2.      Experience & qualifications

·         At least 4-5 years’ sourcing, procurement, prefer experience in automation and equipment.

·         Working experience in various manufacturing environments; manufacturing, assembly.

·         Experience in Bill of Material management, procurement, cost reduction strategy and supplier management.

3.      Skills and Abilities

·         Ability to work under high pressure of project operation and materials planning for deadline.

·         Possess knowledge of procurement activities, including transformation of natural resources, raw materials, and components into a finished product that is delivered to the end customer.

·         Good technical knowledge of OEM materials, automation and equipment.

·         Understand fabrication process like metal forming, metal cutting and metal finishing is preferred.  

·         Good knowledge of supplier and quality management.

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft and Expandable or another EPR system, IoT, and other computer systems for cost updates, tracking, and data reporting.

          Problem solving skill, perform risk analyses to support decision-making processes.
