General Job Description
A Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. They collaborate with stakeholders, forecast market trends, and ensure clear requirements documentation. Their role involves analyzing costs, mitigating risks, and determining optimal delivery quantities and timings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish, streamline and optimize purchasing policies, procedures and best practices. Monitor ongoing compliance to ensure all materials are purchased in a transparent and efficient way.
· Lead, motivate and coach the purchasing team to the right direction, monitor and analyze purchasing performance, identify areas for improvement and drive for continuous improvement.
· Continuous supplier base optimization and supplier relationship management. Define and manage supplier portfolios, develop strategic relationships with key suppliers.
· Continuously identify strategic sourcing opportunities, formulate and lead negotiation strategies across supplier base to deliver sustainable saving pipelines.
· Develop the road map through analyzing spending and identifying cost reduction opportunities, define the commodity cost drivers and screen commodity portfolio for cost savings.
· Communication and coordination between departments, partner effectively with internal/external partners to resolve issues and enhance efficiency.
· Provide leadership in VN local purchasing process with regional alignment and actively look for improvement opportunities.
· Implement company management decisions and reporting.
· Build a strong purchasing team and successor
