Objectives and scope of job: This role involves setting production costs (COGS) in advance and ensuring that these costs are not exceeded during production. Responsible for the implementation of SAP-related activities, including ongoing support. This role requires proficiency in the analysis of solution design, project implementation and master data accuracy to support the operation activities. Desired experience includes technical, functional and process expertise to drive strategic results for projects and initiatives.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure Master Data accuracy in SAP under a quality-driven environment, involving raw materials, purchasing info record, BOM, production planning, manufactured products, and finished goods… in line with corporate data standards;
- Work collectively under a team-driven environment to update requirements in SAP for ERP and MRP. Strong emphasis on serialization, environmental monitoring, validation, stability, workflows, and notifications from SAP;
- Generate the reports, when required, that summarize investigations performed for out-of-specification results or out-of-procedure events;
- Perform duties related to processing and administering requests for data cleansing and standardization, and identify areas of operational improvement by utilizing system functionality. Including metrics and report design;
- Participate in projects and initiatives across multiple functional areas;
- Technical support for users;
- Coordinate with SAP adviser/ consultant from subcontractor and SAP team from headquarters to implement S4 Hana project in Vietnam;
- Creating and updating the standards workflow, production routing and tool lists;
- Creating and updating materials master data into SAP system;
- ECN processing – Ensure all drawings in used are latest version and aligned with customer need;
- Processing manufacturing parameters in cooperation with technologists, quality, production, planning;
- Processing Materials information in cooperation with Purchasing and Planning;
- Creating evaluations and analyses of basic data regarding commodities, plan data and machine data;
- Creating offer/quotation and repetitive calculations together with relevant tool costs;
- Processing, or checking the Risk Level Assessment – part of production technical risk;
- Defining and checking of cycle times and set-up times vs budget data;
- Knowledge of workplace creation;
- Capacity calculations at workplaces;
- Handling load planning of workplaces;
- Elaborating processes vision studies;
- Processing product economic/cost analyses;
- Relocation activities;
- Creating FMEA;
- Yearly budget planning, creating, and checking of performance minutes and production volume;
- Supporting the relevant line leader/ product group leader, e.g. ratio/ saving projects...
- Carrying relocation, and localization projects;
- Monitoring cost optimization projects in plants;
- Cooperating on projects while implementing new machine concepts, technologies, and methods;
- Supporting investment projects (e.g. elaborating on Invest – PPA);
- Supporting Improvement program through e.g. ABC/XYZ analyses and VSA/VSD;
- Cooperating on optimization processes in the scope of Lean methods;
- Be responsible for following standards at the workplace;
- Other tasks as assigned

Männedorf, Switzerland, May 31, 2019 – The Tecan Group (SIX Swiss Exchange: TECN) announced today that it has successfully completed the acquisition of a supplier of key parts. On March 22, 2019, Tecan announced the acquisition of a long-term PMAS supplier to vertically integrate the manufacturing of critical precision-machined parts. With two manufacturing sites, one in California, USA, and a second site in Vietnam, Tecan will be able to benefit from the long-term supply of high quality precision-machined parts and realize cost savings by internalizing their supply. Today, Tecan already is the largest customer of this supplier, making up for a significant share of revenues.
